Designed for dedicated young performers seeking a more advanced theatrical experience. Young Adult productions challenge students with complex characters, higher-level vocal, dance and acting expectations, as well as a rehearsal process that more closely mirrors community and professional theatre. This program encourages artistic growth, leadership, and a deeper understanding of the craft while preparing students for future performance opportunities.

About the Show: The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical follows Percy Jackson, a teenager who discovers he is the son of a Greek god and embarks on an epic quest to prevent a war among the gods. Packed with action, humor, and an electrifying score, this adventurous musical celebrates friendship, courage, and discovering the hero within yourself.

Audition Requirement - Lightning Thief:

• Students will be required to audition prior to admittance into this production
• Auditions will be held August 27th-29th (a link to sign up for an audition time slot will follow registration)
• Registration and at least a deposit payment is required to reserve your seat
• Students cast will be notified prior to the start of production, final payment will be due prior to the 1st rehearsal (September 9th)
• If you are cast but choose to not accept your role, your deposit is non-refundable
• If you are not cast, we will suggest a production for you that will better suit your experience level, if you'd prefer not participate in another production, your deposit will be refunded, or can be held as a credit for future productions.

Why is there an audition requirement for this production?

We strive to create an environment where all students can grow in a way that fits their experience, maturity and age level, by making this production an audition only workshop we will ensure the students cast are challenged to their fullest potential while students not cast are placed in productions better suited for their growth and development to avoid frustration and defeat that can come from being in an advanced group.
